Basic Guidelines for Presentation
The general format of the article must adhere to the following guidelines: font Times New Roman 12 points, including notes, citations, titles, tables, etc.; double spaced, justified with 1 inch margins all around.
The text should be formatted for Microsoft Word for Windows. The length of the papers can fluctuate between 4,000 and 12,000 words for all articles. Essays, reviews, and interviews should be between 1,500 and 6,000 words. All pages should be numbered consecutively on the bottom right corner. The pages of the article should not include the author’s name, title of the article, nor institutional affiliation.
After the article’s title, the beginning of the paper must include an abstract in Spanish and its English and Portuguese translation, not longer than 150 words. It must also include, in a separate line for each of the languages used, between 4 and 6 key words to help identify its content. The abstract must explain the research’s main argument, indicate the methodology and comment some of the conclusions.
The following information should be attached in a separate document: title of the article, name of the author, a short resume – including city, telephone, address, and email address – current institutional or academic affiliation, and the nature of the article – research, thesis, and essay, and whether or not the article is the outcome of a specific research project.
All graphic material – tables, figures, illustrations, photographs, plans, maps – should be cited within the text, either directly or in parenthesis, following the orientations given in the "Manual de orientación para los autores" included in the journal’s web page (http://cuadernosmusicayartes.javeriana.edu.co/). This material should also be sent in a separate file and numbered consecutively in the order it appears in the article. This file should be accompanied by a list of all the references, making sure that the information matches exactly and that it includes the title, source, and author, if applicable. Images should be submitted in TIF or JPEG format, with a minimum resolution of 300 dpi. Graphs, figures, and tables can be in Excel. The author is solely responsible to clear any copy rights, if necessary for publication, for all graphic material submitted. For interviews, the author must obtain the written consent of the people interviewed.
